Photo Editing Enhanced By AI

(AI) has been a significant factor everywhere, and photography is not an exception in recent times. Recently, AI has been integrated into the various editing tools photographers utilize regularly. For example, Capture One recently introduced its intelligent adjustments feature, which uses artificial intelligence to analyze photos and help with adjustments to exposure and color adjustment.

Adobe Photoshop is also a part of the AI bandwagon by introducing neural filtering powered by their machine learning and AI engine called Adobe Sensei. Neural filters use algorithms that allow editing of photos to be a breeze by allowing pictures to be changed and new pixels added without damaging the authenticity of the original image.

Film & Retro-Style Digital Photography

As with other creative fields, photography is subject to the natural flow and ebb in trends. Therefore, even though artificial intelligence editing and image-making techniques are in vogue, it’s not surprising that some photographers want to return to film photography or even incorporate vintage color palettes into their digital works.

By 2023 we anticipate that this trend will continue to increase, as evidenced by the increasing popularity of cameras that are instant among photographers of all skill levels and the launch of Lomography Classics Cameras (that celebrates thirty years of existence for the Lomographic Society.) Another indicator is the growing, rising popularity of digital cameras that are instant as well as disposable cameras in social networks and, of course, the application of digital filters that are akin to film.

Printed Images

In addition, if the film makes its comeback or establishes its place in the digital age – there will likely be a rising number of people wanting printed images. Ultimately, people are battling digital fatigue, and printed pictures provide some nostalgia. Therefore, for photographers who adore printed images and experimenting with various printing techniques, now is the perfect opportunity to shine. This is mainly exciting for photographers who take portraits since clients could increase the demand for prints in the coming months.

Mirrorless Cameras

While some people lust for prints and film, Some are moving into the digital world and using new photo technologies. This is evident in the rising popularity of mirrorless cameras with near-field connection (NFC) and Wi-Fi integrated and other options.

Mirrorless cameras are constantly being introduced, which is why they are growing in popularity. Since many mirrorless cameras are smaller and have more advanced features than their DSLR counterparts, this is the case across different brands, including Nikon, Sony Fujif, ilm, and Leica.

360-Images & Virtual Reality (VR) Photography

Besides mirrorless cameras that enable photographers to share amazing photos and AI tools that help create innovative images, VR photography is increasing. What is the reason? Well…innovations in VR technology have enabled photojournalists (and content creators) to create an immersive experience where viewers can interact in virtual reality by interacting with 360-degree or panoramic photos.

Besides the immersive features, 360-degree cameras are an exciting and unique way of viewing the world. The applications include documentary cameras, product photography photos of homes, and nature photography. It can also be used in applications that are fine art.
